Warhol Cows

Installed: 2018

Location: 1713 11th St.

Artist: Alaina Schindler

About: Inspired by Andy Warhol's iconic Marilyn painting, this large mural features graphic cows. Schindler is a local artist

Artist Bio: A recipient of the W.T Graham Award, Alaina's artwork has been shown at the Milwaukee Art Museum. Fun fact: her high school job was at the Goetz Theatre and she loves that we have a proper, old school theatre in Monroe.

Her inspiration and love for all things art started early because of her father, who also shared that same love. Throughout the years she has enjoyed participating in our yearly artistic ventures. She also contributed to the 100th Anniversary Cheese Days  Wedgie coloring book.

Main Street Monroe is a volunteer driven, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization focused on economic development, infrastructure, small business assistance, special events, and historic preservation in the historic downtown district.
