Paul A. Ruf opened Ruf's Confectionery, a shoe shine and confectionery business, on the northeast side of Monroe's Square and eventually moved to the Square's southwest side in 1904. ​Rainbow Confections continues Ruf's legacy, providing nostalgic candy, popcorn, fudge and ice cream confections.
